There may be other New York Knicks players that are now at war with Tom Thibodeau besides Mikal Bridges.
Knicks swingman Josh Hart’s furious exchange with Knicks head coach Thibodeau during Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors went viral. Hart started shouting at Thibodeau during a second-half timeout huddle, seemingly not agreeing with what Thibodeau was saying.
After firing back, Thibodeau seemed to hurl some profanities at Hart. Before a few Knicks players intervened and attempted to defuse the situation, the two kept fighting for a few more seconds. Just watch the video clip.
The Knicks were down to the Warriors at the time and ended up losing by a final score of 97-94. That dropped New York to 42-24 on the season (though their record is still good enough for No. 3 in the Eastern Conference).
The Knicks have been having trouble scoring effectively in the halfcourt while Jalen Brunson has been sidelined for several weeks due to an ankle injury. This mostly means that they must make games into defense-first, grind-it-out contests, which works well with their current roster but also requires the Knicks to be more accurate and unified as a team.
Hart and Thibodeau’s angry exchange occurs during a period when concerns have been raised over Thibodeau’s dominance over the Knicks. The Knicks forward Mikal Bridges also appeared to voice dissatisfaction earlier this week regarding the excessive workload Thibodeau was assigning him.
