Front Row Motorsports (FRM) has made a significant move ahead of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. The Bob Jenkins-owned organization, which currently fields two Ford Mustang Dark Horse entries for drivers Michael McDowell and Todd Gilliland, is expanding to a three-car team by purchasing an additional charter.

Jerry Freeze, FRM’s general manager, acknowledged the work ahead. “Starting a new team from scratch is always a challenge,” he said. “But with the opportunities in front of us, the talent we have in our leadership, and a bit of a runway to get there, I am confident that we can produce three competitive programs out of the box for the 2025 season.”
FRM aims to achieve its 2024 goals first—to get both teams into the playoffs. With the expansion, they’re positioning themselves for long-term success.
Who will drive for Front Row in 2025?
Before this expansion news, changes were already underway for FRM’s driver roster. Michael McDowell, who secured two of FRM’s four Cup Series victories (including the 2021 Daytona 500), will shift to Spire Motorsports in 2025. Meanwhile, Todd Gilliland, with FRM since his rookie season in 2022, will continue driving for the No. 38 team.
While Gilliland’s presence provides stability, the third seat remains a mystery. Front Row has not officially announced the driver for their newly acquired charter. Speculation abounds, but no concrete details have emerged. Will it be a seasoned veteran or a rising star? Fans and pundits alike eagerly await the news.
Bob Jenkins, the Front Row owner, expressed optimism about FRM’s role in NASCAR’s future. “We have a very positive outlook,” Jenkins said. “Today that means having a plan for expanding back to three cars in the NASCAR Cup Series. I always have the vision to continue to grow and improve our team, and that commitment and desire never change.”
