Scuderia Ferrari, one of the most iconic teams in Formula 1 history, has introduced a significant upgrade package for their SF-24 car ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. These upgrades aim to enhance performance and propel the Italian team back to the front of the grid.
The most noticeable changes are on the side pods, where the geometry and the inlet have been completely redesigned. Ferrari has adopted the “overbite” trend, similar to what Red Bull started earlier in the season. However, Ferrari’s implementation is unique.

The overbite inlet design allows for cleaner airflow over the top of the sidepod, making it easier to control and direct to crucial aerodynamic elements at the rear of the car. Ferrari has brought a new high-load rear wing to Monaco.

Ferrari Boss Acknowledges Mercedes’ Progress
Despite a challenging start to the season, Mercedes AMG Petronas has shown signs of improvement. Lewis Hamilton’s recent comments suggest that the team is getting closer to the front of the pack. At the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, Mercedes introduced revisions to the floor of their W15 machine as part of a larger upgrade package that began in Miami. These efforts seem to be paying off, with Hamilton posting the fourth-fastest time in FP2, just under four-tenths adrift of Charles Leclerc.
Fred Vasseur, the Team Principal, acknowledged Mercedes’ progress and stated, “The Mercedes? They were 28 seconds behind Charles at the end of the race, so yes, I think they got a little closer”. It’s clear that they are keeping a close eye on their rivals, recognizing the threat posed by the Silver Arrows.
