On the brink of free agency, DK Metcalf is in a blockbuster trade.
Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network have reported that the Seattle Seahawks are trading Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In order to acquire the wide receiver, the Steelers are forfeiting their 2025 second-round pick (52nd overall). After gaining Metcalf, Pittsburgh is also agreeing to a new five-year, $150 million deal with him.
Metcalf definitely fits the Steelers’ long-standing desire to acquire more weapons. They were strongly linked to Brandon Aiyuk of San Francisco during the previous offseason, but they were unable to finalize a transaction. This time, the Steelers won’t leave without a victory.
Even though they don’t exactly match one of his stated preferences, Metcalf is still prepared to dedicate himself to the squad, and they are unquestionably a contender.

With three 1,000-yard seasons under his belt, Metcalf has established himself as a legitimate No. 1 receiver with Seattle. He will relieve some of George Pickens’ workload and instantly establish himself as Pittsburgh’s top receiver. Although it’s unclear exactly which quarterback will be throwing to him, the Steelers will probably try to fix that next.
With Geno Smith and Metcalf traded, the Seahawks will have a completely new roster for the upcoming year.
