Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz tested positive for coronavirus and is currently self-isolating. The detection left him out of contention for Chelsea’s Champions League home clash against Ligue 1 side Rennes.

Ahead of their Champions League tie, manager Frank Lampard stated that the entire squad and staff have undergone tests out of which only Havertz’ sample returned as positive.
“It’s significant because he’s tested positive for Covid in the testing going into this game,” Lampard told BT Sport.
Europe has seen a second wave of the pandemic which has prompted England to switch into four weeks of lockdown with football levels above tier 4 given the green light to continue for now.
Chelsea unit gelling well with a string of victories
