The 1994 San Marino Grand Prix took place at the Imola Circuit in Italy. Ayrton Senna, driving for the Williams team, was leading the race when disaster struck. His car, the Williams FW16, crashed into a concrete barrier, instantly claiming his life. The shockwaves reverberated through the racing community and beyond.
The day before Senna’s fatal crash, Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger lost his life during qualification for the same race. Ratzenberger’s accident was a grim reminder of the risks inherent in motorsport. Little did anyone know that Senna would face a similar fate just 24 hours later.
