Shaquille O’Neal is not going to easily live down his recent mistake regarding the Detroit Pistons. Some of his media rivals are determined to make sure of it.
Richard Jefferson took a shot at Shaq during ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” prior to the Pistons’ game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Jefferson made it a point to call out Shaq for wrongly identifying the Pistons’ coach as Chauncey Billups in a recent TNT segment.

“Contrary to popular belief, Chauncey Billups is not their head coach. It’s JD Bickerstaff,” Jefferson said before winking directly at the camera.
Shaq’s error on TNT last week caused him to go viral. Since it was very clear from the whole circumstance that O’Neal has not been paying much attention to the Pistons this season, it also sparked some serious criticism.

This has more than one layer. Shaq and the TNT team have never been very fond of ESPN’s coverage of the NBA. Jefferson was aware of this and was determined not to pass up the chance to make a shot.
The Pistons improved to 39-31 on the season after defeating Miami on Wednesday in a nationally broadcast game thanks to a buzzer-beater from Cade Cunningham. Even though they had no real expectations going into this game and won 14 games the previous season, they are still doing this.
