Tyrese Haliburton was ultimately the target of the Milwaukee Bucks’ long-awaited retaliation.
On Saturday night, Haliburton’s Indiana Pacers lost to Milwaukee. The Bucks prevailed 126-119, despite Haliburton’s spectacular final stat line of 24 points, 6 rebounds, 15 assists, and 5 steals.
Milwaukee’s official X account chose to make fun of Haliburton following the game. A video of Haliburton eyeballing a basketball was uploaded. only after editing the letter “L” onto the ball.
Given how many times Haliburton has harmed the Bucks in the past two seasons, that must have seemed like a cathartic release. Last season, the Bucks were eliminated from the NBA’s In-Season Tournament due to Haliburton’s outstanding performance. Later that year, Haliburton was at the center of the notorious Giannis Antetokounmpo game-ball incident. He was also a key player when Indiana defeated Milwaukee in six games in the 2024 playoffs’ opening round.
Haliburton has persisted in frightening the Bucks, even this season. Haliburton defeated Milwaukee in the final seconds of the fourth quarter with an absurd four-point play the previous time these two teams faced each other, which was only four days ago on March 11.
Having said that, Haliburton, a two-time NBA All-Star, has never had any issues bebopping and scatting all over the Bucks when he is on the winning team. Milwaukee chose to take advantage of the fact that they were now winning against Haliburton and Indiana for the first time this year in order to repay them.
