In just few hours, Bayern Munich will be taking on Lyon in the UEFA Champions League semi final at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the squad cannot spend much time in outfield training. However, that hasn’t stopped the Bundesliga giants, as the players were seen having some light drills right inside the team hotel!

Bayern Munich made it to the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League semis with an astounding 8-2 thrashing of FC Barcelona on 15th August. The match has set the global football fandom on a frenzy as how menacing the German heavyweights have become under the guidance of Hans-Dieter Flick.

Although, before facing Lyon in the semis, who are coming on strong with a 3-1 win over Manchester City in the quarter finals, the Bayern squad haven’t been able to train at the training complex in Lisbon due to the strict health protocols in action. Nonetheless, Hansi had other plans for his boys, as the players were seen performing some first touch drills right inside the team hotel.

it was reported that both PSG and Red Bull Leipzig had followed similar protocols like Bayern, as UEFA asked all clubs to train away from the stadium complex.
Coming off with confidence after ravaging the Catalans in the 10 goal thriller Saturday, Bayern are eyeing their sixth Champions League trophy. However, with ending both Juventus and City’s run back to back, Lyon have proven themselves to be no less of a threat for the Bundesliga champions.
“It is a semi-final. They’ll (Lyon) be well prepared,” Bayern Munich rising star Serge Gnabry on Tuesday.
“it will be no walk in the park. We have to focus and be ready from the first minute.”
“We know they’ve beaten Juventus, they’ve beaten Manchester City and both those teams were favourites. It looks like we’re favourites now and we have to be careful,” the 25 year old winger added.
